TG81SC

The Aisin AW F8FXX series (TG-81SC/ AF-50-8/ AWF8F35/ U881F) is the 1-st eight-speed automatic gearbox solution developed for operation with cross-mounted engines. Aisin engineers planned to develop the gearbox, which on the one hand, would take the same space as its 6-speed predecessor, but on the other hand, would have enhanced total gear spread and reduced gear spacing. The AWF8F35 was released in 2015. This transmission became quite popular and found application in different models of BMW, GM, Volvo, Toyota, Lexus. Sub-modifications of TG-81SC differ in torque, cooling system and friction clutches, drums, but most parts are standardized.
