The automatic transmission AW50-42LE (AF22 - American name of this transmission model for Opel) was released in 1998, and was intended to operate with engines up to 3.0L. This transmission model had increased drums, hubs, planetary gear sets, freewheel clutches..., in order to transmit higher torque. Hyundai matched the 50-42LE with 1.3L i30, while Daewoo installed this transmission on its Lanos models.
