The automatic transmission 6T45E is installed on front- and all-wheel drive cars with engines having the capacity up to 3.2L. To ensure higher torque capacity, the 6T45 is equipped with a 1.25-inch-wide output chain. The input gear set of the 6T45 has 5 pinion gears, while the 6T40 has 4 pinions. The housing of the 6T45 is slightly larger to adjust the bigger chain system and includes enhanced case ribbing for additional strength.
