6L90

The 6-speed automatic transmission 6L90 is more powerful version of the 6L80 intended for usage in trucks. This transmission has an upgraded input gearset with 2 supplementary pinion gears (6 in sum) and enhanced output gearset that applies wider gears than the 6L80. In comparison with the 6L80, the 6L90 has one additional clutch plate in each clutch (there is also the 6L90 model without the additional clutch). Most of spare parts for these transmissions are the same for both transmissions, but the housing of the 6L90 is 35 mm longer than the 6L80 case. The 6L90's housing also includes auxiliary fasteners between the gearbox and transfer case for enhanced noise and vibration resistant performance.
