Common problems & symptoms
Problems and symptoms reported for this transmission, compiled from repair sources. Not a complete list.
!
B2 Control Valve Stuck
The B2 control valve can stick on or be pushed to the apply position by cross leaks, causing binding on the 1-2 shift or complete loss of Reverse.
!
DSL (TCC) Solenoid Stuck Open
If the DSL solenoid sticks open in Drive, the B2 clutch applies as in manual low, causing the transmission to bind on the 1-2 shift; if stuck open in Reverse it can block Reverse entirely.
!
Direct Clutch Sealing Ring Wear
Sealing rings on the direct clutch wear into the cover and drum grooves, causing pressure loss that leads to 2-3 slip/flare, delayed engagement or no Reverse.
