Recently,
ŠKODA AUTO’s transmission manufacturing facility in Vrchlabí, one of the most
technically advanced VW’s sites, has produced the 3-millionth DQ200 automatic
direct-shift transmission (DSG). This landmark event underlines the plant’s
importance within VW’s global production network. It is said that currently the factory in Vrchlabí
manufactures approximately 2,200 DSG units every day.
BorgWarner (BW) has recently entered into an
agreement with one of China’s major New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brands to provide
the fully integrated drive module (iDM) for their EVs. This kind of cooperation
represents BW’s 1-st iDM undertaking in China. The company’s EV system solution
combines high-capacity power electronics with an advanced gearbox unit and
drive motor having a HV hairpin stator.
Jatco Ltd, a well-known Japanese provider of
transmission solutions, has officially launched the manufacturing of CVT
transmissions at its second specialized plant in Suzhou, China. This important
event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Schaeffler, a German manufacturer of auto parts,
plans to supply its hybrid transmission unit for the 2020 Ford Explorer and
Police Interceptor Utility, as well as the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. As a part of
Schaeffler’s electrification strategy implementation, this transmission
solution contributes to hybridization of the SUVs, trucks and off-roaders,
while also ensuring more power and torque.
Recently,
it became known that BorgWarner (BW) has officially taken on the obligation to
provide its cutting-edge triple-clutch P2 drive module and electro-hydraulic
control unit to ChangAn Automobile, a major Chinese supplier of auto parts, within
the terms of the recently signed agreement.
The
Automotive Testing Expo 2019, one of the most important events in the field of automotive
test, evaluation and quality engineering, was officially closed on 24 October
2019. This year, more than 370 participants presented their innovative test,
development, validation and calibration solutions intended for the automotive
industry.
Five Mercedes-Benz OF 1721 buses equipped with
Allison 3000 Series automatics were supplied to the urban transportation
company named Auto Viação Tres Amigos in Brazil. These are the first buses
manufactured by the German company in Brazil. The second set of 5 buses will be
distributed among two other local companies.
Magna International
recently sealed a major deal on delivery of transmission solutions with BMW
Group. It is referred to supply of FWD dual-clutch transmissions (including
hybrid solutions). It is considered to be the biggest deal in Magna’s history.
Allison Transmission plans to showcase its
fully automatic transmissions intended for different types of commercial
vehicles at the upcoming Solutrans 2019 exhibition. During the event, the company will demonstrate
models of the 3000 and 4000 Series units.
Eaton has presented new additions to its range of
well-known ELocker differentials, which now includes solutions for Toyota
pickups and SUVs. Eaton showcased new products during the SEMA 2019.
