Common problems & symptoms
Problems and symptoms reported for this transmission, compiled from repair sources. Not a complete list.
!
Torque converter clutch (TCC) wear
The lockup clutch friction material wears, causing vibration, overheating and debris that contaminates the fluid and clogs solenoids.
?
TCC-related DTCs P0741/P2757
Mechanical or hydraulic faults in the lockup circuit set performance codes P0741 (ON-OFF type SL solenoid) or P2757 (modulated SLU-type solenoid), indicating no or erratic lockup rather than an electrical fault.
!
Lockup control valve bore wear
On SLU-type valve bodies, wear in the lockup control valve bore and the outboard plunger/sleeve area leaks TCC apply pressure, causing converter shudder, slip or no-lockup complaints.
