New Manual Transmission from TREMEC

New Manual Transmission from TREMEC

The much-awaited TREMEC’s new 6-speed transmission, named as the Magnum-F, has been finally released! This unit was developed to take the place of the T56 in 1998-2000 GM F-bodies. The new solution is based on the company’s TR-6060 manual unit to ensure that fourth-gen owners get enhanced operating capacity.

The new Magnum-F solution provides owners of the new Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models with a bolt-in gear stick option, which can handle high amounts of torque generated by high-power engines.

Previously, owners of the abovementioned models who had a mind to install the required manuals had to spend hours on the internet in search of a used T-56s equipped with the F-body–particular tail-shaft housing that could include the torque arm mount. It started to become an even more time-consuming procedure, as the supply of original F-body T-56s has been severely reduced. The new gearbox solves these issues as a perfectly-fit solution for 3rd and 4th gen F-bodies.

This product also has a specific gear stick positioning that perfectly suits not only for the abovementioned applications, but also for models that require a gear stick to be located between the regular Magnum and the Magnum-XL. The new solution also differs in dimensions from other Magnum options in dimensions. LS-swapped late-models of different configurations and sports cars (for instance A80 Supras or FD RX-7s) seem like the most obvious variants for a new gearbox among possible applications.

The design the new solution includes high-quality parts that are used for transmission units installed in many of today’s OEM muscle and sports cars. It is important to point out that the Magnum-F is made of top-quality parts, and the unit is backed by a 1 year/12,000-mile warranty.
