Jatco Starts Making CVTs at a New Production Facility in China

Jatco Ltd, a well-known Japanese provider of transmission solutions, has officially launched the manufacturing of CVT transmissions at its second specialized plant in Suzhou, China. This important event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.


The facility was founded last year with the aim of coping with the growing demand for CVTs in China. It is interesting to point out that the company needed only 1 year from the paperwork formation of the plant to the beginning of the series production. It is the 2-nd Jatco’s CVT-making facility in China; the 1-st one located in Guangzhou has been delivering quality gearboxes for the local market over the past 12 years. The positioning of the new plant ensures convenient logistics capacity, as it is close to major commercial ports, making it an ideal place for delivery of products to different points.




The new plant will utilize Jatco’s cutting-edge machinery and operating procedures to produce the Jatco CVT8, which commonly find application in midsize vehicles of Nissan and Renault brands. With labor force of 700 highly-skilled specialists, the new facility covers 96,000 sq.m, and its output capacity is predicted to reach 480 thousand units per year. Overall, Jatco now can to deliver about 1.6 mln units annually, turning the company into a significant player on the Chinese market.
