Highlights From Rematec Asia’s First Edition In Guangzhou, China

From Oct. 11-13, RAI Amsterdam held its 1-st Asia edition of Rematec, demonstrating latest achievements of the Chinese remanufacturing industry. Co-located with Automotive Aftermarket Guangzhou (AAG), Rematec Asia (RA) presented a great chance for international automotive businesses to get acquainted with the remanufacturing industry in China and consider possibilities of consolidating their positions on the fast-growing Chinese market. The international participants of the show also benefited from AAG visitors, allowing representatives of the Chinese auto repair industry and authorized dealer centers to become familiar with the long-term benefits of remanufacturing.

In collaboration with Chinese partners, RA organized presentational events, where Chinese and international business professionals had a chance to share their visions on the industry trends. The Rematec Theatre was the center of attraction of the RA program and it was open to all visitors of both co-located exhibitions. It included discussions on a wide range of relevant topics related to the Chinese reman businesses. All discussions were conducted in several languages and had high attendance rates. The impressive area offered a remarkable combination of International and domestic automotive businesses and their products. Another noteworthy event was the AAG’s Welcome Dinner, which was attended by 500 official guests, who managed to discuss the most pressing industry issues in informal surroundings.

Niels Klarenbeek, director of Rematec, said that the exhibition organizers managed to expose to the world the remanufacturing industry of China and paved the way for greater cooperation between local businesses and international counterparts. A huge success of the 1-st RA proves a great potential of the Chinese aftermarket and good future prospects of Rematec in the region.

Influential leaders gathered at the “Remanufacturing 50 Forum.” The one-day summit was attended by politicians, representatives of major automakers and academic institutes. The advent of Rematec to Asia has made a significant contribution to bridging the physical gap between east and west in remanufacturing.

The last day of the exhibition was marked by a tour to local reman businesses. The trip included the recently opened local auto parts market, where more than a thousand vendors offered a variety of auto spare parts. The visit gave a precise understanding in the difficulties and prospects in return logistics in China.
