Future Toyotas Will Get Two Automotive Features to Help Inattentive Drivers

As the number of vehicles on the roads grows, so does the number of road accidents, and Toyota, as one of the most innovative automakers, came up with two technical solutions which may become quite handy for distracted drivers.

Modern cars are equipped with a number of smart components such as automatic transmissions, taking upon themselves the hardest driving tasks, that is why sometimes even the most responsible driving people start daydreaming and forget to do some essential and simple things. That is why Toyota plans to add 2 new features to its future models that can help rule out cases when a silly mistake may lead to serious consequences. Toyota has recently announced that it will implement 2 fresh features in its new models. New solutions cannot be considered as something extraordinary that has never been seen in the automobile world before.

The 1-st of these 2 products is the “Automatic Engine Shut Off” unit. This solution is supposed to operate in pair with the Toyota’s keyless igniting unit. If the car is left running for a long time, it'll just switch itself off. At present time, Toyota models will inform you, if you unintentionally leave your car running, but it won't switch off the engine.

The 2-nd feature is named “Automatic Park”. The name of this solution literally describes its function: If a driver gets out of the car without engaging Parking gear, the new smart unit will do it without the intervention of a driver. This feature needs a car that relies on electronic means to control both the transmission and the parking brake, but it is still unknown which Toyota models will get this feature. The main objective of this technology is to avoid accidental rollaway risks.

While it is still unknown what Toyota models will get these features, the chances are that Toyota will clarify the situation as 2020-model-year cars reach the automobile market.
