Common problems & symptoms
Problems and symptoms reported for this transmission, compiled from repair sources. Not a complete list.
!
TCC (damper) solenoid failure
Mechanical failure of the torque converter clutch control solenoid sets P0741; the A6GF1 (plastic pan) uses a specific solenoid part number.
!
Oil temperature sensor fault
Defective oil (fluid) temperature sensors can produce TFT codes P0711/P0712/P0713 and, if not working properly, cause an incorrect fluid fill.
!
Reducing valve bore wear
The RED1/RED2 reducing pressure valves in the valve body are prone to bore wear, producing unstable solenoid supply pressure and resulting performance or gear-ratio codes.
