Common problems & symptoms
Problems and symptoms reported for this transmission, compiled from repair sources. Not a complete list.
!
Pressure regulator valve/bore wear
Continuous oscillation of the pressure regulator valve wears its bore, causing unstable line pressure that produces soft or harsh shifts and can secondarily damage clutches.
!
Boost valve/sleeve wear
Oscillation of the boost valve within its sleeve wears a leak path for EPC and reverse pressure, causing insufficient line rise in Drive and excessively high reverse pressure.
!
TCC regulator valve wear
Wear at the torque converter clutch regulator valve and bore allows pressure to leak, causing converter shudder/slip, poor TCC apply/release, and overheating.
