Lube Dam

A lube dam is installed between the input and reaction carrier assemblies. Automatic transmission repair specialists claim that the lube dam may be easily damaged in case of careless tear down of the output shaft. In 2006, GM introduced some changes into the structure of the lube dam and of the bearing in the input carrier to enhance the quality of lubrication and prolong the bearing service life. This new design solution for lube dams can be specified by its black color and 3 notches on each side.
